(LGEG) is a researched & evidence-based curriculum from the Junior Master Gardener Program from Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service. This program was developed by Teachers for Teachers! LGEG is a 10-week TEKS aligned program combining academic achievement, gardening, fresh vegetable exposure, physical activity, and school & family engagement. All lesson plans and activity how-to’s are provided for you, so no extra planning for our busy teachers!

Learn, Grow, Eat, Go! Family Garden and Nutrition Workshop

Training descriptor: Join The Youth Horticulture Education Program for this fun, hands-on gardening and nutrition workshop for families. Participants will learn about gardening, nutrition and healthy lifestyle choices for their children and family. We will have hands on activities in both gardening and nutrition. We’ll even do a little food prep for a healthy snack.
This workshop is for families and their children ages 5-12 years of age.

2023 Texas Farm Bureau Summer Ag Institute (SAI)

Training descriptor: A four-day professional development opportunity that immerses teachers in multiple aspects of agriculture to increase agricultural literacy in the classroom. SAI incorporates presentations by agricultural experts who specialize in education. The four-day institute also includes site visits to area farms, ranches, and agricultural businesses for a truly hands-on experience.

July 20, 2022 Virtual
Cultivating School Gardens Conference 

This training is sponsored by Texas A&M AgriLife Extension and will provide education on how to start a garden, what to grow, how to sustain a program, and examples of how others have been successful. JMG will be presenting and sharing how to implement JMG curricula. This training provides 7 CPE credits recognized by TEA and registration is $30. We can’t wait to see you, virtually!

JMG Training

This 3 hour training will introduce you to the JMG program and its curriculum. You will learn the ins and outs of using the lessons with any group of youth. Primarily designed for 3-5th and 6-8th grades, the lessons can be modified to use with pre-K all the way to senior citizens!  This training is open to Extension educators, classroom teachers, and interested adults and volunteers, and costs $20. We will do lots of JMG activities and you will receive a copy of the Level 1 Teacher/Leader Guide.
