This 3 day National Leader Training Conference will equip you with everything you need to effectively lead groups of Junior Master Gardener through garden-based learning projects AND empower you to lead JMG Training Workshops for other teachers/leaders in your community!

Through this training conference, participants will learn how to:

  • effectively lead proven, research-based JMG lessons
  • prepare JMG teacher/leader training events for their local communities
  • enroll and register children in the JMG program
  • organize and engage youth in career exploration and service learning activities
  • involve local county Extension office, volunteers and parents with JMG programs
  • recognize youths with JMG certifications
Agenda Overview

All JMG curricula are correlated to academic standards for science, math, language arts, and social studies to support school day academic programming. This session will also include evidenced-based research documenting positive program impact on children and families.

This training will include information on tips to market JMG to schools, after school programs and community based clubs.  Program sustainability through community collaborations and partnerships will be addressed and specific program resources, marketing materials, and support items will be shared.

Shuttle Information:
Hyatt Place provides complimentary shuttle to and from Easterwood Airport in College Station. They are extending this service to shuttle guests to and from the conference training facility each day. Due to multiple guests requiring this option, the hotel has created a set schedule for shuttles. Guests who are in need of transport must contact the hotel to provide their shuttle transportation requests by phone.
