2025 JMG National Leader Training Conference

Training Descriptor:  This year’s VIRTUAL national leader training will be a dynamic & interactive training conference and will be exclusively & completely accessible as an engaging, online training event.

During & after the 2025 JMG NLT conference, attendees will be equipped to:

  • Utilize all curricula resources, breakout sessions
  • Implement best practices, project-based learning, managing students/groups
  • Access Group/class registration, recognition & certification options
  • Involve local county Extension, volunteers and parents in your programming
  • Reach into schools, after school programs & clubs
  • Prepare/lead JMG teacher training workshop events
  • Generate funding to support programs
  • Utilize program resources, marketing materials
  • Build sustainability through community collaborations and partnerships

JMG Youth Workshop
Training Descriptor: The International Junior Master Gardener program is back at Great Parks! Budding gardeners, ages 7–10, are invited to enroll for this course. We’ll dig deep into native plants, homegrown foods and the science of all things gardening. Each gardener that attends the full course will be granted their Level 1 Junior Master Gardener certification. Classes run the first three Thursdays of the month from October 3- May 15 at Glenwood Gardens. Sign up for one class or for the full course. Workshops will be held from 10:30 AM – 11 PM.

JMG Training – NM Master Gardeners’ Conference
Training Descriptor: This all-day event will cover topics essential to the future of our gardening environment – from changes in climate to recovering pollinator populations to recruiting and maintaining our gardening population. Participants are invited to enjoy an optional guided Historical Society tour over lunch on Saturday (fee and preregistration required, approximately 45 minutes) and a pre-conference get-together (free) on Friday evening.

Training Descriptor: This Junior Master Gardener Summer Day Camp will allow youngsters to explore soil science, gardening, composting and insects! The camp will be hosted by the Bladen County 4-H program on June 6-7 from 9-11 a.m., and is open to youth ages 5-7.

This training is sponsored by Texas A&M AgriLife Extension and will provide education on how to start a garden, what to grow, how to sustain a program, and examples of how others have been successful. JMG will be presenting and sharing how to implement JMG curricula. This training provides 7 CPE credits recognized by TEA and registration is $30. We can’t wait to see you, virtually!

JMG Training
This 3 hour training will introduce you to the JMG program and its curriculum. You will learn the ins and outs of using the lessons with any group of youth. Primarily designed for 3-5th and 6-8th grades, the lessons can be modified to use with pre-K all the way to senior citizens!  This training is open to Extension educators, classroom teachers, and interested adults and volunteers, and costs $20. We will do lots of JMG activities and you will receive a copy of the Level 1 Teacher/Leader Guide.
