Did you know that pineapples don’t grow on trees? They actually grow out of the ground from a leafy plant that can grow up to 6 feet tall. Interestingly enough, Christopher Columbus brought pineapples from South America back to Europe.
There are many benefits to eating pineapple. Many studies have suggested that pineapples help decrease the risk of obesity and diabetes and help with digestion, energy, and hair/nail growth. Fresh pineapple is also the only known source of an enzyme called bromelain which is used to reduce swelling and inflammation. There are so many benefits from one little fruit! Eat up!
