Kyrgyzstan

In collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic, Mercy Corps Kyrgyzstan and Borlaug Institute for International Agriculture, The International Junior Master Master Gardener Program adapted the research and evidence-based JMG Lean, Grow, Eat & Go! curriculum to meet the unique needs of Kyrgyz students.
Following the great success of the initial summer JMG camp implementation, the program continued with a fall implementation of the JMG curriculum. In addition to providing an effective, academically-rich and multidisciplinary school garden/nutrition learning project, the program also helped to develop a culture of sustainability, teamwork, and health among young people, contributing to the overall development of future leaders.
