September – Fruits & Vegetable Month (#jmgfruitsandveggies)
- Highlight fruits and/or vegetables that you have grown or used in your classroom/project group for educational purposes
- Be on the look out for opportunities for prizes and special blog posts!
- September 21st through 25th is “Healthy Eating Week” – Post a picture of you eating a fruit or vegetable everyday to promote healthy eating to your community. The best photos each day will receive a prize! (Be sure to use the hashtag and tag us, so we can see your photos)
October – Child Health & Hunger Awareness (#jmgconquershunger)
- Statistics or service projects your community is using to alleviate hunger and staying active
- Be on the look out for opportunities for prizes and special blog posts!
November – America Recycles Month (#jmgrecycles)
- What are some ways your project group/classroom can or are promoting recycling?
- American wide JMG Recycling Challenge! (More information will be distributed at a later date)
December – Cultural Cuisines (#jmgeatsglobal)
- Recipe sharing from your classroom/group with others!
- Be on the look out for opportunities for prizes and blog posts of cuisines around the world!
January – Preserve Your Winter Greens
- Share how you preserve your greens during the winter months
February – Plant Month
- Highlight plant parts, plant growth, plant recipesand plant classification activities
March – Spring Planting & Gardening (#jmggarden)
- Planting and gardening tips for your community garden
- Techniques you are using
April – Water Appreciation Month (#jmgwaterconservation)
- Share the benefits of water for humans and plants
- Watersheds and/or Water Conservation
May – Wildlife Appreciation Month (#jmgwildlife)
