A thriving need & growing solution.

We’ve gotten increasing number of emails/calls from teachers, principals, volunteers and Extension faculty/staff from different parts of the country.

Most of these are requests are training workshops for teachers and also for our local Extension faculty/staff/volunteers that can support them. Although there are many, many locally-led workshops regularly happening across the country, it is difficult to meet the demand – especially when those requests are for training workshops for smaller audience of teachers – so, over the past year, the JMG Program Office has been hard at work to meet the need.

On March 1, we are launching the Plant Growth & Development Junior Master Gardener Online Curriculum & Teacher Training

This new, self-directed and engaging training course for teachers, volunteers and Extension serves as a dynamic professional development opportunity for as well as a new, multimedia curricular option for the Plant Growth and Development chapter from the JMG Level One Teacher/Leader Guide (Grades 3-5) . Those completing this course will be equipped to teach fun, effective lessons from each of the module/content areas and lead students to earn their Junior Master Gardener Certification in Plant Growth & Development.

You can find more details about it at: http://jmgkids.us/moodle-campus. Beginning March 1, you’ll be able to enroll in the course from links from the front page at www.JMGkids.us

Later this week, we’ll share how you can be involved in development of the next online course built around the research and evidence-based Learn, Grow, Eat & Go! curriculum.
